I do my best to provide good care. Even so, it can happen that you are not satisfied with something. On this page you can read which steps you can then take. In doing so, the practice complies with the Dutch Healthcare Quality, Complaints and Disputes Act (Wkkgz). This is an English translation for your convenience; the Dutch version prevails in the event of any discrepancy.
1. Discuss it together first
Not satisfied with something, or do you disagree with something? Say so. You can do this during a session, by email at info@satipsychologie.nl or via WhatsApp. Discussing this is part of the treatment and often we can resolve it together. Your complaint never affects how you are treated going forward.
2. Independent complaints officer
If we cannot resolve it together, or you would rather discuss it with someone else first, you can call free of charge on an independent complaints officer via the complaints procedure of the NIP, the professional association I am a member of. The complaints officer listens, advises and mediates between you and the practitioner, and helps you put your complaint in writing if needed. More information and how to submit a complaint: nip.nl/klachtenregeling (in Dutch).
3. Disputes committee
If the complaints officer’s mediation does not lead to a solution, you can submit your complaint as a dispute to the recognised disputes committee that the practice is affiliated with through the NIP: the Disputes Committee for Independent Mental Healthcare Practices (Geschillencommissie Vrijgevestigde GGZ-praktijken). This committee issues a ruling that is binding on both parties. Costs may be involved in this step; you can find the current procedure and conditions via nip.nl/klachtenregeling (in Dutch).
4. Complaints about your personal data
Is your complaint about how your personal data is handled? Feel free to discuss that with me first too. In addition, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority. See also the privacy statement.
